Senior School - Drama

“All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players…” William Shakespeare

At Shellharbour Anglican College we are excited to introduce Drama as a cocurricular activity. Drama is a highly engaging and challenging learning experience that caters for a diverse range of students and prepares them for effective and responsible participation in society.

Drama also provides a valuable means of increasing self confidence and social awareness within the student. Students involve themselves physically, emotionally and intellectually. Through collaboration, sharing and working individually, students gain self assurance in expressing ideas and emotions.

In 2013 Drama was run in correlation with the Stage 4 English curriculum, as part of a focus from ‘page to stage’. Through running a Junior Drama ensemble (Years 7 and 8) and a Senior Drama Ensemble (Years 9-12), with the hope to generate student interest in Drama as an elective subject for 2014. This came to fruition with the first Senior School production, 'Thongs', where students from all age groups were involved both on stage and behind the scenes.

The 2016 Senior School Production of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was an outstanding success and we look forward to our next production.
