Senior School - Senior School Library

We call the Senior Library the Information Resource Centre (IRC) and we aim to inspire and encourage a lifelong love of reading and learning. We also aim to serve the College by providing quality resources to support the curricula and great reading choices for students, parents and staff. Located at the north end of I Block, the IRC provides access to technology, a collaborative learning space and a growing collection of fiction, non fiction, graphic novels, magazines, picture books, CDs and DVDs that support the curricula and inspire teenage minds.

The IRC is open to classes Monday to Friday and is available for research, iPad work, quiet reading/writing and borrowing. Open lunchtimes to students Wednesday to Friday, we offer a range of activities from playing board games, iPad challenges and other competitions whilst also providing a safe, quiet place to peruse the collection or to just take a break from the action outside. Special events during the year are also a part of what we do, with the aim of continuing to promote a love of reading and learning, including "Library on the lawn" and the “Amazing Race." Book Week is celebrated each year, with a teenage spin put on the theme for the year.
