Pastoral care is not just a buzz word at Shellharbour Anglican College, it’s what we do.
We know that kids learn better when they feel safe, secure and connected. That’s why student wellbeing is a strong focus for our College. Just as we provide deep learning, we also offer deep care.
Student wellbeing
Pastoral care and student wellbeing are vital to the adventure of learning. Happy, connected students result in greater personal and academic growth. We value and respect every student so that they can thrive. We won’t just give your child wings, we’ll teach them how to soar. The end result? Responsible, resilient and compassionate young adults who strive for personal excellence and seek ways to serve others.

Junior School
In the Junior School, your child will spend most of their time with their classroom teacher. Teachers take the time to understand each child’s strengths and weaknesses. Every child is known and cared for and can develop positive and lasting. In addition, the Coordinator of Pastoral Care, along with our team of College Counsellors, drives House activities to drive House spirit and community. The House structure creates a strong sense of connection and belonging, where students form bonds among a small group for their entire senior school journey.
Senior School
The Senior School Pastoral Care team includes:
- Dean of Students
- Tutor Teacher
- Head of Senior School
- Coordinator of Pastoral Care
- College Counsellors.
In the Senior School a strong pastoral care structure will see your child under the care of a dedicated Dean of Students for each year group cohort.
